Sugar on the Dashboard - How to Display Blood Glucose on Apple CarPlay

What if your blood sugar level appeared on your car screen the moment you got behind the wheel? Sounds like science fiction? It's actually possible.

By integrating the Zukka app with the Apple Calendar, your blood glucose can be visible on Apple CarPlay - no complicated setup, no jailbreak, no workarounds.

Why bother?

Safety comes first when driving. Pulling out your phone, unlocking it, and checking your blood sugar is a distraction. In the car, having everything right in front of you is what matters most.

Apple CarPlay displays calendar events on the dashboard by default. Zukka takes advantage of this mechanism - instead of fighting system limitations, diabetes apps can legally and safely place blood glucose data exactly where it's needed most.

How does it work?

Zukka regularly pulls data from your Nightscout and saves the current blood glucose level as an event in the iOS calendar. Apple CarPlay automatically shows upcoming events - and that's how your blood sugar appears on the car screen.

All the steps needed to configure this setting in Zukka and Apple CarPlay can be found at the link below.
